Wow! What a beautiful, relaxing and serene place! Hakea Retreat is certainly a hidden gem surrounded by stunning nature – bush, plants, animals, views, etc. Especially loved the loop walk! Will definitely be back.

This place is the loveliest rural retreat with crazy lambs, chickens, bunnies and even crazier goats. The grounds are incredible and the hosts are so lovely telling us all the best places and locals spots to visit. We even extended our stay an extra 5 days. Can’t wait for our next trip to Raglan.

We really loved it here, it is very rustic and different kind of place to stay, very quiet lots of interesting rooms and comfy chairs to hang out in. This is an example of sustainable living, outhouse, solar power, organic gardening, free range eggs with the biggest chickens I have ever seen. This is the place to enjoy the quiet read, take a walk down to landing, and just forget the world for a day or two!

Such amazing hosts and a brilliant place to stay to escape the city life. If you want to see the heart of New Zealand, this is the place to stay. Not only is it an extremely relaxing stay, but soothes the mind and soul completely. There are so many birds and owls, trees and most gorgeous scenery and scenic walks you could find. And so close to Bridal Veil attraction. I cannot wait come back and stay again.
